Found in Kazakhstan and Kyrgystan Russia, Gansu, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Xinjiang, Xizang and Yunnan provinces of China in forests on slopes at elevations of 2700 to 4100 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a creeping, cylindric, stoloniferous rootstock giving rise to an erect stem with 1 to 2, basal, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, basal, spathulate to elliptic-spathulate, obtuse to acute, contracted below into the clasping base leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, slender, ridged, 1.2 to 3.2" [3.5 to 8 cm] long, subdensely 4 to 12 floweed inflorescence with 1 to 2 foliaceous, lanceolate bracts and lanceolate, nearly as long as the flowers, acuminate floral bracts.

CAUTION I am not sure of this determination. The drawings available to me do not have side lobes to the lip
