Found in northwestern Yunnan PROVINCE OF China and Myanmar in shady places on trees, mossy rocks and cliffs at elevations of 2400 to 3300 meters as a cool to cold growing epiphyte or lithophyte with an ovoid-conic, elongated neck pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, immature at flowering, lanceolate, falcate, acute leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, 1.2 to 5.2" [3 to 13 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with 3 to 4 membraneous sheaths and erect, obovate, rounded to truncate apically floral bracts and carrying a fragrant, nodding flower
