Found in western Yunnan province of China in forests at elevations of 2400 to 2800 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial that is a natural hybrid between P. aurita × P. forrestii with acuminate, pear-shaped pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, plicate leaf that blooms in the spring on a arising with a new growth, erect, 2.8" [7 cm] long terete, single flowered inflorescence with a narrowly elliptic to oblanceolate, round apically flower bract.
