Common Name Maxon's Pelexia [American Botanist Original Collector of the type 1900's]

Flower Size

Found in Oriente province of Cuba on forested slopes at elevations of 450 to 525 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with about 2, basal, membraneous, ovate to ovate-elliptic, acute, slender, red, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the laterr spring on a basally glabrous, distally pubescent, peduncle to 6.4" [16 cm] long, glasndular pubescent above, provided with and partially concealed by sheathing bracts, rachis to 4.8" [12 cm] long, pubescent, densely many flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate, acuminate, shorter to slightly longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying greenish white, more or less erect flowers.
