Found in eastern Cuba as a small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with 2 basal, membraneous, ovate to ovate-elliptic, acute, slender, red, petiolate base leaves that blooms on a basally glabrous, distally pubescent, to 12" [30 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate, acuminate, as long as to slightly longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying greenish white, more or less erect flowers
