Found in Ecuador at elevations of 2000 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a slender, erect, ramicaul enveloped by a tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, acutely deflexed, narrowly ovate, deeply cordate, acute apically, sessile basally leaf that blooms in the winter on a fascile of solitary, successive flowered infloresccence arising through a conduplicate spathe and carrying resupinate flowers
