Common Name The Aberrant Pleurothallis

Found in Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Ecuador in primary forests at elevations around sea level to 700 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm growing, shortly repent to caespitose epiphyte with erect, stout ramicauls carrying a single, apical, eret, ovate, acuminate, abruptly narrowing below into the elongate petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a reclining, arising through a spathe, compact, distichous, racemose, peduncle .4" [1 cm] long, rachis .2 to 3.6" [.5 to 9 cm] long, 8 to 10 flowered inflorescence with as long as to shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
"Characterized by a few flowered raceme of green flowers brone above the base of the more or less spreading leaf. The base of the leaf is abrupptly contracted into a narrowly winged ramicaul. The dorsal sepal is erect and fleshy above the middle, the petals are obcuneate with the truncated apex lobulate and the lip is long-ungiculate with the claw and the column foot within a conical mentum formed by the floor of the synsepal. The petals and lip are foreign to the subgenus Acianthera" Luer 2004
