Common Name The Ladle-Like Pleurothallis

Found in Cartago province of Costa Rica, Antioquia department of Colombia, Huanuco departemnt of Huanuco department of Peru and Bolivia without elevational data as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing, shortly creeping epiphyte with suberect, stout, ramicauls enveloped by 2 thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, broadly elliptical, obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter, spring and summer on an erect to pendant, arising laterally from a node on the ramicaul, lax, subflexuous, .6 to 1" [1.5 to 2.5 cm] long, successively 2 to 6 flowered inflorescence with a thin, tubular, much shorter than the pedicel floral bract.

"Broadly elliptical, short stemmed leaves are produced on a short, creeping rhizome. At intervals of time the short pendent raceme produces a single, ivory colored flower covered with minute specks of red purple. At the bottome of the stem, the large, concave synsepal is uppermost on the flower giving the appearance of a long-handled dipper." Luer 1976
