Common Name Bolsanello's Pleurothallis [Brazilian Discoverer of species current]
Flower Size .12" [3 mm]
Found in Espirito Santo state of Brazil at elevations of 200 to 600 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with cylindrical ramicauls carrying a single, lanceolate, tridenticulate apically, conduplicate below into the pseudopetiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall through winter on 1 to 4, erect to horizontal, short, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence arising from the base of the leaf with a short, amplexicaule floral bract
Closest to Pleurothallis nectarifera but P bolsanelloi differs in the much shorter ramicuals [.4" vs .8 to 1" (1 cm vs 2 to 2.5 cm)] comparitively longer leaves [.32 vs .48 to .6" (.8 cm vs 1.2 to 1.5 cm)] without a tridentate apex., 2 to 3 flowered vs single, a short pedicel .04 to .08 vs .12 to .16" (1 to 2 mm vs 3 to 4 mm)], an ovary not concealed but subcylindrical, unribbed sepals on the abaxial suface vs tri-ribbed, much shorter sepals [.128 to .156" vs .18 to .2" (3.2 to 3.4 vs 4.5 to 5 mm)], a relatively wider lateral sepal, petals also somewhat wider, completely greensih white flower color vs purple black in the upper part, a more elongate lip with more developed lateral lobess, with an entire margin and non-fimbriate and no trace of 2 shiny and glutinous macules."
