Found in Morona Santiago province of Ecuador in primary forest, under the tree canopy, in association with lichens and mosses at elevations around 1400 meters as a tufted, mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect, 2 noded stems carrying a single apical, linear to oblanceolate in shape, obtuse-acute, mucronate at the apex, entire margins, glossy, leathery, with a longitudinal groove along the midrib on the upper surface, olive green in color, abruptly tapering into a petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall and winter on an erect, simple, sessile, arising from the base of the leaf, emerging through an erect, glabrous spathate, annular bract , peduncle filiform, longer than the leaf, 3.12" [7.8 cm] long, greenish in color, provided with 3 internodes covered by tubular-infundibuliform, oblique, acute, spatulate bracts, the rachis is .08" [.2 cm] long, divided by 5 internodes, solitary, ascending, successively to 5 flowered inflorescence with obliquely broad, obtuse, with an acuminate and apiculate apex, leafy becoming papery, glabrous floral bracts and carrying semi open flowers with th sepals orange-brown, darker on the underside; petals yellow, barely tinged with brown on the wings, the labellum orange-brown, with two keels, the column ochre yellow with the base of column ochre yellow.
