Found in Minas Gerais state of southeastern Brazil at elevations of 400 to 600 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by a tubular, red brown sheath from near the base to the middle and another near the base, and carrying a single, apical, erect, rigid, coriaceous, broadly spathulate-elliptical, convex, obtuse to acute at the minutely denticulate apex, distinctly cuneate below into the, channeled, occasionally twisted petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later fall on 1 to 2, arising laterally from the ramicual below the abscission layer through a thin spethe, 1.2 to 1.6" [3 to 4 cm] long overall, peduncle .8 to 1" [2 to 2.5 cm] long, shorter to barely surpassing the leaf, sublax, successively single, several flowered inflorescence with half as long as the pedicel floral bracts.

"Similar to P cordilabia in floral color and shape of the floral segments especially the sepals and petals, however the new spcedisw is distinguishd by the cuneate-petiolate, convex, boader elliptical leaves, minutely pubescent sepals and a narrower, obscurely trilobed, oblong lip instead of much narrower, flat leaves, glabrous to only mcroscopically papillose sepals and a lip with distinct, erect, broadly rounded leqateral lobe which when expande render a cordate outline.
