Found in Valle de Cauca department of Colombia at elevations around 1200 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by a tubular sheath near the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, ovate, subacute to obtuse leaf that blooms in the fall on a successively single flowered inflorescence with a tubular, shorter than the ovary floral bract.
"Similar to P macrocardia but distinguished by the sepals that are only three times longer than wide, instread of much longer. It approaches P scabrilinguis which has proportianally wider sepals. The lip is elliptical and covered by minute verrucosities. It is also similar to P bivalvis but the sepals and petals are proportionally longer and narrower." Luer 2005
