Common Name The Cone Shaped Pleurothallis

Found in Pataza province of Ecuador in cloud forest at elevations around 2200 to 2400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 2, thin tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly obovate, obtuse, narrowly cuneate into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on an erect, arising laterally from the ramicaul, filiform, 2" [5 cm] long, racmose, loose, successively several flowered inflorescence with half or less as long as the pedicel floral bract.
"Distinguished by the small, oblanceolate leaves, a twice longer, flexuous, successively flowered raceme, long-caudate sepals thickened at the tips of the filamentous tails, long-fimbriate petals with a filamentous, clavate apex similar to the sepals and a purple-black, pyriform, subpandurate lip with a rounded apex and obtuse angles below the middle."
