Found in La Paz department of Bolivia in cloud forests at elevations around 2000 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, cool to cold growing, caspitose epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls with a tubular sheath near the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, erect, elliptical, subacute to obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the early summer on a loose, arising through a spathe with an annulus, secund, 6 to 9.6" [15 to 23 cm] long, simultaneously several to many flowered inflorescence with a longer than the ovary floral bract.
"Similar to P sclerophylla in habit as well as the long many flowered inflorescnece farr exceedingthe leaf in length, the petals and sepals are similar as well. The lip however is distinct witha tin, serrated margin above the middle and erect, lateral lobes below the middle and three longitudinal calli." Luer 1999
