Flower Size .2" [5 mm]

Found in Nariño department of Colombia at elevations around 2200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 thin tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, narrowly elliptical, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a lateral, slender, 1" to 2" [ 2.5 to 5 cm] long, congested, fascile of successively single flowered inflorescence with thin, tubular, imbricating, shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.

"Distinguished by the slender peduncle twice or more as long as the leaf, the shortly acuminate sepals are minutely carinate-denticulate, the petals are obliquely obtuse with minutely erose margins. A longitudinal pair of carinae join above the base to form a fringed crown-like cavity and a large pedunculated callus is prsent on either side of the column foot." Luer 1999
