Found in Risaralda department of Colombia without locatioal data as a small sized, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls with a tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 basal sheaths with a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical petiolate, acute, lightly acuminate leaf that is cuneate below into the petiole that blooms in the spring on a pendant, arising from an ovate spathe at the apex of the ramicaul, few flowered, racemose, 3/4" [2 cm] long inflorescence with an infundibular, shorter than the pedicel floral bract .
Certainly related to P strobilifera but it differs in having petiolate leaves, smaller yellow-green flowers with a circular, callous margined depression in the center of the lip.
