Common Name The Cradle Pleurothallis [refers to the synsepal and lip]

Found in Choco' department of Colombia at elevations of 1950 to 2450 meters as a small sized, cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by a close, tubular sheath above the base and 2 to 3 basal sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical-oblong, subacute, abruptly acuminate, broadly cuneate to rounded below and abruptly contracted into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a lateral-arching, arising through a spathe fascile of .6 to 1" [1.5 to 2.5 cm] long, successive, single flowered inflorescence with as long as to shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
"Similar to P cenua but differs in the larger plant with broader leaves that arae abruptly contracted into hthe petiole. The lip is flat and slightly concave centrally instead of being concave with incurved sides." Luer 1975
