Common Name The Boat-Shaped Pleurothallis [refers to the synsepal]

Found in Constanza province of the Dominican Republic without elevational data as a mini-miniature sized, caespitose epiphyte with stout, slender ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3, thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse, denticulate-erose margins, cuneate below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the late fall and early winter on an erect, .1 to .12" [2 to 3 mm] long, single flowered inflorescence with an oblique, acute, half as long as the pedicel floral bract.
"Characterized by a tuft of minutely denticulate-erose leaves borne by a much shorter ramicaul. The proportionally large, dark purplre flower is borne single by a short peduncle.The deeply concave synsepal and the concave dorsal sepal are adhernet at the tips to form wide lateralapertures in a manner seen in ther taxa in Zootrophion and Ophidion. The lip is broadl;y ovate and coarsely verrucose and erose." Luer 2006
