Common Name The Diverging Pleurothallis [refers to the bifurcating inflorescence]

Found in Costa Rica and Colombia at elevations around 365 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing, densely caespitose epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 scarious, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, obloancolate, marginate, bidenticulate apically, with an apicule between the teeth, contracted below into the slender petiolate bsae leaf that blooms on an ascending erect, peduncle 1.6" [3.5 cm] long, rachis 1" [2.5 cm] slender, thread-like, dichotomous, loose, to 5 flowered inflorescence.

Kew still has this one as a synonym of P aristata but the mini-miniature sized plant found at low elevations is easily distinguished by the short thick sepal tails, the bent dorsal sepal and a thick clavate, bulbous apically lip and the bifurcating inflorescence
