Common Name The Fractiflex Pleurothallis [refers to the inflorescence]
Flower Size .4" [1 cm]
Found in Heridia province of Costa Rica and Panama in cloud forests at elevations of 2000 to 2300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical to narrowly ovate, subacute to obtuse, narrowly cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late fall and winter on a arising laterally from the ramicaul, loose, flexuous, distichous, successively single, many flowered inflorescence and has an oblique, acute, shorter than the ovary floral bract.
"Allied to P casualis but differs in the relatively long inflorescence, longer, narrower lateral sepals and petals and disimilar lip. Vegetatively it resembles P quinquesta.
