Found in Huanaco department of Peru in cloud forests at elevations around 640 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, narrowly elliptical-obovate, subacute to obtuse, narrowly cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, arising from a node below the abscission , 1.2 to 1.6" [3 to 4 cm] long including the .8" [2 cm] long peduncle, successively and distantly single, 4 to 5 flowered inflorescence with an oblique, acuminate, minutely scabrous, just short to as long as the pedicel floral bract.
Most similar to P humilis but the new species is characterized by the densely caespitose plant with very short ramicauls and narrow, thickly coriaceous leaves. The loose, successively few flowered raceme eventually exceeds the leaf in length. The sepals and petals are shortly acuminate and sharply acute. The lip is elliptical and fleshy with a pair of longitudinal calli and a minute pair of basal lobules." Luer 2006
