Common Name or Meaning The Bent Petal Pleurothallis

Found in Morona-Santiago and Zamora-Chinchipe provinces of Ecuador and Peru? at elevations around 1300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect ramicauls carrying a single, apical, erect, oblanceolate, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a laterally from the ramicaul, ascending, elongating, successively single flowered inflorescence with much shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
"Similar to P zephyrina but the inflorescence is flexible, remotely flowered raceme of successive flowers. The sepals are purple spotted and long-attenuate. Instead of cilia, teeth or a fringe, the margins of the petals are singly forked on the basal qurter. THe diffusely papillose, dark purple lip is oblong with the rounded apex deflexed. A pair of forked calli are present on the disc between the ereect, marginal lobes on the basal third." Luer 2006
