Common Name Gert Hatschbach's Pleurothallis [Brazilian Orchid Collector earlier 1900's]

Found in Rio de Janiero, Parana, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul states of Brazil in dense forests at elevations of 1100 to 1400 meters as an mini-miniature to small sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, thin ramicauls enveloped by 4 brown sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, obovate, leathery, dark olive green, conduplicate, finely attenuate below into the base leaf that blooms in the late fall on 1 to 2, erect, peduncle 1.4 to 3.8" [3.5 to 9.5 cm] long, rachis 1.2 to 2.4" [3 to 6 cm] long, mostly simultaneous, 4 to 10 flowered inflorescence with shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying secund, fragrant flowers.

A relatively large species when compared to others in the state of Parana. It is characterized by the caespitose plants, the erect inflorescence carrying up to 10 yellow flowers. The sepals and petals are long, narrow and acute, and the lip is much shorter and oblong-ovate.
