Common Name The Ibiuna Pleurothallis [refers to a town in Bahia state of Brazil]

Found in Bahia state of Brazil in the Atlantic rain forest at elevations around 180 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing,caespitose epiphyte with an inconspicuous rhizome giving rise to terete ramicauls provided with 2 to 3, scaly deciduous sheaths and carrying a single, green, erect, subcoriaceous, evident rib on the back, slightly recurved, lanceolate, tridentate apically, attenuate in the lower third, gradually narrowing below into the petolaite base leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a terminal, arising through a small spathe, peduncle cylindric, arched, longer than the leaf, to 6" [15 cm] long, flexuous, zig-zag, successively single, few flowered inflorscence with triangular, acute floral bracts and carrying outwardly glabrous flowers.

Similar to Pleurothallis campestris but differs in the smaller lip and a different color flower
