Found in Parana' state of Brazil at elevations below 800 meters as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, very short, cylindrical ramicauls enveloped by a tubular sheath and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, lanceolate, rounded apically, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late summer and early fall on an erect, arising through a spathe at the apex of the ramicaul, filiform, strongly fractiflex, .8 to 2" [2 to 2.5 cm] long, successively 2, few flowered inflorescence
