Common Name The Intricate Pleurothallis [refers to the habit]

Flower Size .12" [3 mm]

Found in Michoacan state of Mexico at elevations around 1300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, repent epiphyte with slender, reclining to ascending ramicauls enveloped by a loose, tubular sheath and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse, cuneate below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and fall on an erect, arising from near the apex of the ramicaul, subcongested, sulax, subsecund, filiform, .6" [1.5 cm] long including the .4 to .48" [1 to 1.2 cm] long peduncle, successively 3 to 4 flowered inflorescence with acute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.

"Characterized by the overlapping, elliptical leaves, from betwen which the tiny peduncle emerges. Great mats of intertwined, leafy ramicauls eventually develop. The succesively few flowered raceme is held above the leaves. The widely gaping flower is superfically similar to P barbulata with the erect dorsal sepal, bifid synsepal, entire, acute petals and the protruding, oblong-cilaite lip. The lip however is sulcate medially between a pair of longitudinal calli." Luer 2006
