Common Name Linden's Pleurothallis [Belgian Orchid Botanist 1800's]

Found in Merida and Aragua states of Venezuela, Santander, Cundinamarca, Antioquia, Quindio, Caldas and Valle de Cauca departments of Colombia, Pichincha, Chimborazo, Loja, Azuay and Zamora-Chinchipe provinces of Ecuador and Cajamarca and Huanuco departments of Peru in wet, cold, cloud forests at elevations of 2600 to 3350 meters as a small to large sized, cold growing, caespitose epiphyte or terrestrial with slender, stout, erect ramicauls with a sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, acute, abruptly narrowing below into the cuneate base leaf that blooms at most anytime of the year on an arcuate then pendant, arising through a spathe, slender, laxly few to several flowered, racemose, 1.2" to 4" [3 to 10 cm] long inflorescence with an infundibular, as long as to shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.

"Characterized by a slender to stout ramicaul carrying an acute, sessile leaf and one to a few, loosely flowered, arching racemes of purple striped flowers. From beneath the cucullate synsepal the elliptic petals protrude and diverge. The lip is cordate with the apex subacute to obtuse to entire. P bicornis which it is often confused is usually larger, the middle sepal is proportionally narrower, the pointed petals are in apposition or adherent and the apex of the lip which is broadly rounded and variously fimbriate.
