Common Name or Meaning Miquel's Pleurothallis [Dutch Botanist 1800's]

Flower Size .12" [3 mm]

Found in Napo province of Ecuador, Loreto department of Peru, Amazonas state of Venezuela, Guyana, Fr Guiana, Surinam and Para state of Brazil in rain forests at elevations of 100 to 200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing, repent epiphyte with an erect, slender, terete ramicaul enveloped by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect to suberect, coriaceous, light green, narrowly ovate, acute, cuneate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the late summer and early fall on a short, arising through a spathe at the base of the leaf, .06 to .1" [1.5 to 2.5 mm] long, successively single, 2 flowered inflorescence with shorter than the pedicel floral bract.

"Recognized by the long, repent rhiazome, slender, erect ramicauls with narrowly ovate leaves and a single flower with a characeristic, proportionally long, narrow dorsal sepal. The central calli of the lip are tall and verrucose." Luer 2004
