Common Name or Meaning The Pretty Pleurothallis [refers to the flower]
Flower Size .4" [1 cm]
Found in Tolima department of Colombia at elevations around 2900 to 3100 meters as a small sized, cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by a tubular sheath below the middle and 2 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, spreading, coriaceous, obovate-elliptical, obtuse, shortly acuminate, cuneate below into the conduplicate petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an arching to pendant, arising through a spathe at ehe apex of the ramuicaul, .6 to 1.4" [1.5 to 3.5 cm] long, single to loosely two flowered inflorescence with an infundibular, shorter than the pedicel floral bract.
Characterized by the slender ramicaul carrying a single, obovate leaf blooming with a one to 2 flowered inflorescence of spotted flowers with ventricose petals and a deeply cordate lip with an acute apex." Luer 1999
