Common Name The Luer's new Plaurothallis

Found in Espirito Santo state of Brazil in montane forests at elevations around 600 to 800 meters as a mini miniature to just small sized, warm growing caespitose epiphyte with terete, green ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, green, thickly chartaceous, lanceolate to narrowly elliptical-lanceolate, acute and 3 toothed apically, attenuate to narrowly cuneate below into the petiolae base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, arising from near the apex of the ramicaul, 4 to 10' [10 to 25 cm] long, loose, slightly fflexuous, successively single to 2, several flowered inflorescence with green, tubular, acuminae , shorter than the ovary floral bract and carrying non resupinate flowers.
" This new species is most similar to P pellifeloides Barb. Rodr., from which it may be distinguished by the size of the dorsal sepal and shape of the petals. The dorsal sepal in P neolueriana is .2 to .22" [5.0 to 5.5 mm] long and the petals have an externally thick, papillate, mucronate apex, whereas in P. pellifeloides the dorsal sepal is .12 to .16" [3 to 4 mm] long and the petals are acute."
