Common Name Focke's Pleurothallis [German Botanist 1800's]

Flower Size .2" [5 mm]

Found in Brazil, Surinam, French Guiana, Guyana and Bolivar and Amazonas states of Venezuela in rainforests at elevations of 200 to 300 meters as a miniature sized, hot growing, shortly repent epiphyte with erect, ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, elliptical leaf that gradually narrows into the apex of the ramicaul and blooms on a short, arising from the apex of the ramicaul at the base of the leaf, fasciculate, single flowered inflorescence with just short of the ovary floral bract and carrying the flowers close to the leaf base.

Similar to P omissa but P fockei has acute and considerably shorter than the synsepal, the lip is acute and erect, broadly rounded sides below the middle while P omissa is broadly rounded apcially and has retrorse marginal lobes below the middle above the unguiculate base
