Found in Pinar del Rio western Cuba in mesophyllous evergreen rainforests at lower elevations as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing, repent epiphyte with very short ramicauls enveloped by 2 scarious, hyaline sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic to slightly oblanceolate, prostrate, acute, shortly mucronate to apiculate, green to greyish green, shortly attenuate below into the base leaf that blooms in the spring on 2, terminal, .1" [2 mm] long, with a basal, ovate, bract, single flowered inflorescence with a infundibular, as long as the pedicel floral bract.
"Characterized by a shortly creeping rhizome, verrucose, ovate leaves and a flower nearly as large as the leaf, The sepals are verruscose externally, that laterals are connate into a bifid lamina, the petals are narrowly oblovate and serrulate and the lip is verrucose and three lobed below the middle."
