Found in southeastern Brazil at elevations of 1000 to 1600 meters as a mini-miniature size, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte or lithophyte with an erect to repent ramicaul enveloped by 2 to 3 close, tubular sheaths and carrying a single apical, erect, ovate, rounded, purple spotted, gradually narrowing below into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms at most any time of the year on a racemose, successively single to 5 flowered inflorescence
