Found in Minas Gerais, Epiritu Santo, Sao Paulo and Parana states of Brazil as a mini-miniature sized, repent epiphyte with erect, cylindric ramicauls enveloped by a single tubular sheath and carrying a single, apical, erect, thick, fleshy, lanceolate, acute, longly attenuate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on an arching, arising through a basal spathe, much longer than the leaf, peduncle .8 to 1.6" [2 to 4 cm] long, rachis to .4 to 2" [1 to 5 cm] long, simultaneously 2 to 6 flowered inflorescence with just shorter than to just longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying nodding flowers.
Similar to P linearifola in regards tothe floral morphology, especially the series of calluses in the shape of a strand of pearls, which extend like a median band and longitudiannly from the base to the apex of the lip. However P piratiningana differs in the creeping habit while P linearifolia is a caespitose species." Santos, Toscano and Smidt 2019
