Common Name Portillo's Pleurothallis [Co-Collector of species 1900's and 2000's]

Found in Norte de Santander department of Colombia on the eastern cordillera of the Andes at elevations around 1700 meters as a small sized, cool, growing, pendant, repent epiphyte with ramicauls enveloped by 2, fugacious, ablique, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, pendant, thinly coriaceous, mottled purple beneath, elliptical, slightly conduplicate, acute to subacute, cuneate at the sessile base leaf that blooms on a short, arising through a large, inflated, leaf-like sheath at the base of the leaf, congested, peduncle .12" [3 mm] long, successively single, 4 to 5 flowered, racemose inflorescence with thin, as long as the ovary floral bract.
Similar vegetatively to P calypso but the sepals are glabrous externally, the petals are unguiculate and the lip is obovate with the rounded apex minutely denticulate." Luer 2007
