Common Name or Meaning The Stretched Out Pleurothallis [refers to the elongate peduncle]

Flower Size .2" [5 mm]

Found in Risaralda department of Colombia at elevations around 2000 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, cool to cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, very slender ramicauls enveloped by a tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 others near the base and carrying a single, apical, spreading, coriaceous, elliptical-ovate, acute, cuneate to rounded below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the late fall and early winter on a slender, suberect to erect, arising through a spathe, 1.2 to 1.6" [3 to 4 cm] long including the .4 tyo .8" [1 to 2 cm] long peduncle, single flowered inflorescence with shorter than the pedicel floral bract.

This species has an elongate peduncle holding the yellow, red striped flower well above the leaf. The widely expanded flower has a narrowly obtuse sepal and synsepal, petals that are nearly as large and the lip is triangular in shape.
