Found in Rio de Janiero, Sao Paulo and Parana' states of Brazil in deep shade in scrub around swamps and in primary cloud forests at elevations of 900 to 1300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with clustered ramicauls envelopedby 3, trumpet shaped, shortly stiffly hairy, recurved magined sheaths carrying a medium-green, faintly conduplicate, elliptic to lanceolate, psuedo-petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring on a thin, 2 to 2.4" [5 to 6 cm] long, successively to 2 at once, to 15 flowered inflorescence with alternate flowers
