Common Name or Meaning Ramos' Pleurothallis [Colombian Botanist and collector of species current]

Found in Choco' and Valle de Cauca departments of Colombia in montane forests at elevations around 1800 to 1900 meters as mini-miniature sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect to suberect ramicauls enveloped a close, tubular sheath below the middle and another at the base and carrying a single, apical, suberect to spreading, coriaceous, ovate, acute, acuminate, long-mucronate, cuneate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the summer on an suberect, arising through a spathe at the base of the leaf, .8 to .92" [2 to 2.3 cm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with half as long as the pedicel floral bracts.
"Characterized by the slender ramicauls, spreading, narrowly ovate leaves, successive, long-pedicellate flowers, narrowly ovate, acuminate dorsal sepal and synsepal, long, linear petals ad a three lobed lip with large erect, rounded basal lobes and an ovate, acute, anterior lobe. The disc of the lip is sulcate, overlaid basically with a pointed callus dfrom the base." Luer 1998
