Found in Espirito Santo Brazil in dense Atlantic forests near rivers at elevations around 700 meters as a medium sized, warm growing, repent epiphyte with lateral, very short, cylindrical ramicauls enveloped by a papery sheath and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, rounded apically, sessile base leaf that blooms in the fall on 1 to 2, filiform erect, strongly fractiflex, .7 to 1.2" [1.75 to 3 cm] long, successively 1, 2 flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe at the apex of the ramicaul
