Common Name The Ribeirao River Pleurothallis [refers to a river in Espirito Santo state of Brazil near where the orchid was discovered]

Found in Espirito Santo state of Brazil at elevations around 1000 to 1100 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, caespitose lithophyte with cylindrical ramicauls carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic, very shortly bifid apically with a microscopic apicule in the "V", canaliculate below intothe pseudopetiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on an erec, arising from the apex of the ramicaul, peduncle filiform, 1.6 to 2.4" [4 to 6 cm] long, provided with 2 sterile, amplexicaul bracts, rachis, successively single to 3 flowered inflorescence with a amplexicaul, shorter than the pedicel floral bract.

"Similar to ,A href=" Pleurothallis parvifolia Lindl. 1837 but differs in the much larger plant, three times narrower leaf, the unguiculate, oblong lip."
