Found in Espirito Santo state of Brazil on vertical rock cliffs in full sun at elevations around 1500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, caespitose lithophyte with a green, cylindrical ramicaul enveloped by a papery, tubular, brown, acute sheath and carrying a single, apical, erect, reddish green to green, oblanceolate, acute, cuneate below into the base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, green-yellow, 1.28 to 2.8" [3.2 to 7 cm] long, straight, simultaneously 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence with a tubular, acuminate floral bract.
