Common Name or Meaning Sanchez's Pleurothallis [Original Co-collector of species current]

Flower Size .2" [5 mm]

Found in Zamora-Chinchipe province of Ecuador in shady, wet tropical forests at elevations around 1200 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 tubular sheaths and another below the middle and carrying an erect, thinly coriaceous, narrowly oblong, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a fascile of successive, single flowered inflorescence with just shorter than the pedicel floral bracts and has the flowers held at the leaf base.

Similar to P dalesandroi but distinguished by larger leaves, but smaller flowers with the sepals only three eveined instead of 7 veined. The petals are oblong and subacute and the lip is obovate with low, broadly obtuse lateral lobes. The base of the lip is densely glandular-pubescent." Luer 2006

Similar species include P rabei, P jamaicensis, P dalesandroi, P burzlaffiana and P lewisii
