Common Name Schweinfurth's Pleurothallis [American Botanist 20th century]

Found in Peru and Bolivia as a small sized, caespitose epiphyte in cloud, wet montane, evergreen and piedmont forests at elevations of 600 to 2400 meters as a warm t ocold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths as well as one below the middle carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical-oblong, acute or subacute, petiolate leaf that is cuneate into the petiole that blooms on an erect to arcuate, 7" long, loose, distichous, simultaneously opening several flowered inflorescence with an oblique, acute, shortre than the pedicle floral bract and carrying the flowers well above the leaves.
"Distinguished by the flowers with long-pointed flower parts. The lip is long-attenuate, similar to the petals, and about as long as the synsepal. The lower part of the lip is flat without incurved margins." Luer 1998
