Common Name The Deep Forest Pleurothallis
Flower Size .01" [2mm] wide .8" [2 cm] opening
Found in Choco department of Colombia at elevations around 200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect ramicauls carrying single apical, erect, coriaceous, obovate, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a congested fascile, of erect, slender, 4" [10 cm] long, successively single, several flowered inflorescence with a thin, shorter than the pedicel floral bract and holding the campanulate flowers above the leaf.
"Distinguished by the tuft of narrowly obovate leaves and a slightly shorter peduncle that bears in succession a narrowly bilabiate flower. The raceme is a very congested, secund raceme that is practically fasciculate. The dorsal sepal and synsepal are long, narrow and striped in purple. The petals are dilated on the lower margin. The lip is small, oblong, obtusely angled on the margins below the middle and the base is bilobulate.
