Found in southern and southeastern Brazil in wet primary forests at elevations around 1300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 brown sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, ovate, flat, leathery, dark olive green leaf that blooms in teh fall on 1 to 2, .6" [1.5 cm] long, single to 3 flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe at the base of the leaf
