Common Name The Fringed Pleurothallis [refers to the petals and lip]

Found in Morona-Santiago province of Ecuador at elevations around 1500 meters as a small sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect to horizontal ramicaul enveloped by a tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, acute, cuneate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the summer on a thin, pendent to arching, flaccid, peduncle 1.6" [4 cm] long, distichous, rachis 1.2 to 2.4" [3 to 6 cm] long, simultaneously few flowered inflorescence without a spathe and has a tubular, shorter than the ovary floral bract.

"Characterized by a large habit, an elliptical, sesslie leaf and an arching, pendent raceme of large, bright orange flowers. The sepals are fleshy-carinate. The dorsal sepals is narrowly attenuate, while the laterals are connate into a boat shaped synsepal. The petals and long slender lip are long fimbriate." Luer 2004
