Common Name Vasquez' Pleurothallis [Bolivian Collector of species current]

Found in La Paz department of Bolivia in cloud forests at elevations around 2550 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, descending ramicauls with a tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, pendent, thickly coriaceous, narrowly linear-elliptical, slightly curving upward, acute, narrowly cuneate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the early summer on 2 to 3, arising through a spathe at the apex of the ramicaul, successive, pendent, subcongested, subflexuous, 1.2 to 2" [3 to 5 cm] long including the .4" [1 cm] long peduncle, simultaneously few flowered inflorescence with a shorter than the pedicel floral bract.
"Unique in the subgenus by the narrow pendent leaves that curve slightly upwards. The short, few flowered racemes are also pendent. The flowers differ in the obovate, subunguiculate lip with a central carina flanked by a purple stripe on each sidde." Luer 1999
