Common Name or Meaning Wawra's Pleurothallis [Czech Orchid Collector in Brazil 1800's]

Found in Rio de Janiero state of Brazil in montane forests at elevations of 400 to 600 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing, shortly repent epiphyte with a short, erect to ascending, suberect to quite flexuous, cylindrical, pale green ramicaul carrying a single, apical, erect, somewhat recurved, rigid, almost flat, intenese green on both sides especially above, median nerve above deeply grooved, below very prominent leaf that blooms in the winter on an erect, arising through an arching, very laterally compressed, pale brown spathe, peduncle 1 to 1.6" [2.5 to 4 cm] long, shorter than the leaf, filiform, flexous below, somewhat fractiflex above, smooth, successsively several, 5 to 10 flowered inflorescnece carrying hyaline, pale whitish-yellow flowers.
