Found in New Guinea in lowland forests at elevations of 250 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with an erect, angular-subcylindrical, tapering towards the apex pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, plicate, 7 veined, elliptic-oblong, keeled underneath, acute-acuminate apically, channeled petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, erect, pubescent, to 16.4" [to 41 cm] long, 11 to 17 flowered inflorescence with successively opening, non-resupinate flowers.
