Common Name The Giant Plocoglottis

Found in Penninsular Malaysia, Thailand, Sumatra and Borneo in hill forests at elevations of 900 to 1600 meters as a large sized, cool to warm growing terrestrial with a stout, pubescent, stems enveloped basally by short sheaths and carrying 6 to 12, sessile, lanceolate, acute, shortly pubescent, 3 veind, plicate leaves, which also is seen only in Plocoglottis quadrifolia but not in any other Malaysian Plocoglottis, and blooms in the fall on an erect, to 32" [80 cm] long, shortly pubescent, many flowered inflorescence with triangular, acute, apically narrowed floral bracts and carrying fetid scented flowers.
