Found in the Moluccas and New Guinea in primary and secondary lowland forests at elevations of 60 to 1600 meters as a medium to large sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with .6 to 1.8" [1.4 to 4.5 cm] between each cylindrical, rarely angular stem enveloped by 3 to 8 cataphyls and carrying carrying 4 to 12, plicate, 3 to 5 nerved, linear to lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous, cuneate below into the petiolate or sessile base leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on 1 to rarely 2, pubescent, 10.8 to 35.2" [27 to 88 cm] long, 9 to 30 flowered inflorescence
